I love the secondary slugs. They really help the action to sing. And it's easy to see how he "directs" the action without being overt about it. You can easily follow each beat, each image on show. It's interesting to see how different Miller's dialogue is in the released version of the film compared to the above script. On a slightly different note, I live a 20 minute drive from the beach where this scene was filmed. It's much nicer in real life than the film portrays. And there's nobody shooting at you ;)
