Very funny post Waka, and I don't know, I quite like that unfriended one. Although I never really got the purpose of friends reunited, the website where people get in touch with people they don't bother contacting anymore. Yours sounds like a social media version of High Fidelity, with John Cusack. But as you say, why that protag, why now and what's she going to do when she finds them? And should I be on reddit now. Is that where it's at? Damn this social media glut. Thanks for the reminder on commerciality.

This lady is already a treasure I look forward to hearing from. Anybody wondering how to nail down authenticity needs to check out Waka Brown. What a fabulous dispatch. I'm so glad you've addressed the time thing because I was going to ask about the time in the story and the time in our own life -- why does this story have to be told at this time in my life? Scott is so right about the change that comes with every script written. This is cheap therapy right here, folks. I used to write tear-jerker family flicks, but lately what comes out is very dark, and I'm digging it. The more that darkness comes out, the more the bitterness in my life dissipates. As I've said before, Scott is one lucky guy to have you under his wing, and you're certainly making his teachings fly.

Brilliant post Waka. Thanks for sharing. You indirectly bring up a very good point. When we're starting out as screenwriters, we labor under the illusion that we are the next big thing, that no one else will be as good as us, that all we have to do is pound out the first draft and it's Option City. But of course, it couldn't be further from the truth. It takes time to succeed in this business. It also takes MASSIVE bruising of the ego to get to the point where you're ready to admit that your scripts need work or that your ideas are not quite up to scratch. But without those horrible initial scripts and less than fabulous concepts, we wouldn't be able to develop as writers. Wishing you all the best with the Quest.
