Having spent a couple decades in Labrador, I tend to enjoy the "snowy" films, especially great stories against that setting - "Smila's Sense of Snow" is another favourite. There just don't seem to be that many produced and, I'm wondering if it is more of a budget issue, or people (cast/crews) just don't like working in the the cold? :) When I was a reporter there, I cursed the number of times my camera batteries died in -35C, or, in the days of silver film, the film simply froze and broke in the camera... sigh. An unwary breath could fog a lens for ages, even if it didn't turn to frost. Of course, it *is* a breathtaking landscape... Which makes it sort of unfortunate that more people don't get to see the unique images and cultures there, especially at a time when audiences say they're tired of LA and NYC settings. I wonder if Lochhead could talk a bit about the choice of setting, and if he considered those technical/people issues?

I'd love to hear you guys dig into those initial creative sessions when Joe Wright was brought on board. What was it like to transition from your role as the initial, sole creator of Hanna into a working partnership with a director with his own story and visual sensibilities? How did you navigate the co-mingling of your original vision with his?
