Scott Mosier! I used to love listening to the DVD commentary tracks on Kevin Smith's films (and his early Smodcasts) as both Kevin and Scott bounced (verbally speaking) so well off each other. Scott is a very funny guy. Looking forward to seeing this.

This looks fun! The kinda movie you think "I wish I would have thought of that!" This brings up a question about animation. As a writer I heard somewhere that unless you're with Disney/Pixar you shouldn't waste your time writing an animated script. Is that true? I wrote one and have more ideas but stopped after I heard that...Just curious.

Lisa, while I would never say never [see what I did there], one has to face facts: The odds against selling an animated feature length spec script are hugely long. One big reason is what you mentioned: Most of the stories Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, etc are developed in-house. I did a post within the last year or two in which this question came up. For the post, I went through all spec sales from 2008 to present. I believe I found just 2 animated spec script sales. Again that is not to say it is IMPOSSIBLE to sell an animated spec [never say never], however it is a serious challenge to do so. Best bet: Write and sell a live-action script, develop in your career and gain enough heft as a writer, THEN have your reps get you in the door to pitch to the various ani companies.
