Each of these interviews has an amazing quality, unique to each writer, that just fascinates! You're creating a Paris Review for screenwriters, here, Scott. Thanks so much, once again. My question for Arash would be the life rights issues. From the interview, it sounds like he wrote it from an astonishing amount source material, with Grace as a public figure. Hence no need for obtaining any life rights. Would love to learn how he approached his discussions with financiers about this aspect of the story/script/production.

It was pretty straightforward given Grace was a public figure and the original nature of the research was self-evident in the script. Once you're in prep, the legal team then carries out due diligence, which in this case included getting the royal family's approval on the script in order to shoot in Monaco (which was granted). Not so much a necessity in this case as a desire to maximize the production values of the movie.
