Thanks Scott and Arash! As always these interviews are very inspiring. My first question is not directly about Arash's work, but rather his experience and advice. Hope that's alright! What are your thoughts on managers? Have you had much experience with them? Do you have any advice on what one should expect from a manager, and what a writer should ask/ know before signing with one? There are so many, and of course not all of them will be with big, established companies. I once heard someone say something along the lines of "If I haven't heard of them, they aren't worth signing with". I find myself weighing the benefits of signing with a smaller manager who really believes in my work and I have a strong relationship with, or holding out for a bigger "prestige" company. If you have any thoughts on this, I'd greatly appreciate it! *unrelated question if you have time* Can you divulge the reason your distributers changed "The Expatriate" to "Erased"? Thanks again, guys!

Hi Arash... from Aberystwyth! First of many great screenwriters from the area, we hope... ;)

I don't personally have a manager, I choose to work with an agent and an attorney, but have had a manager in the past, and know many writers that swear by their managers. There is no right way, but I would say when you're starting out it's more important to start with somebody who is a right fit for you than chasing a brand name where you may not get the service you need. Re Erased, I'm not sure, but I believe the distributors screen-tested the movie in the US and changed the title as a result.

Here's hoping.
