I love the opposition and directionality that come up in this part of the interview: surface vs depth, seeking vs fleeing, past/present/future, etc. It reminds me, not in the story but in the dynamics, of Anne Fontaine and Benoît Graffin's Girl from Monacao, one of my favorite films. (That's one of the highest compliments I ever give writing; I make the comparison rarely.)

Really enjoying this interview. As a big fan of Kristen Bell's I was going to see this anyway, but now I'm really eager to check out the film after Scott has said the script was hard to predict.
