Howdy Scott, I submitted my logline to the quest initiative last night and I didn't receive a confirmation of any sorts. Just want to make sure you got it. Are we supposed to get confirmation? Thanks, JT

Hi Scott By what date do you anticipate making the first cut? Thanks Sutinder
Scott at 2013-06-08 19:57:37:
If you sent it to thequestinitiative at gmail dot com, you should have received a confirmation email. I just checked and it does not have your email. Please try again at the above email address.

I will be posting a schedule of the evaluation process on Monday. But I have tentatively slotted in contacting writers who have made the first cut for Wednesday, June 19.

**slaps face** ok..so Why was I under the impression that the loglines had to be six words or less, mine all are. Did I not read that correct?
plinytheelder_t at 2013-06-08 21:15:10:
I dunno Scott, maybe it's just me but I would have gone for the second logline just because I feel that, in one shape or another, I've seen the movie described by the first logline many times, whereas the other feels a lot less familiar. Why would I be askew in making that call?
Scott at 2013-06-08 21:18:26:
pliny, I'm not talking about the QUALITY of the story concept. The point of the post was finding a sweet spot between concision and clarity. Agree, the second one has a story conceit that is less familiar than the second one.
Scott at 2013-06-08 21:21:07:
Dee, the point of the 6 word exercise is simply to compel a writer to engage their story at its most basic nature. But it's just an exercise. If you would like to retool your loglines and resubmit, feel free to do that. I thought I was clear about that exercise, but evidently I could have articulated that better.
Dee Matthews at 2013-06-08 21:56:25:
ok, thank you! it will come from rebuilddabox@gmail.com
plinytheelder_t at 2013-06-08 22:21:17:
I knew I was wrong. Wasn't quite sure why, but I get where you're coming from here. thanks for clarifying.

Hi, I am a UK resident. I understand that I am eligible however if I were to be selected as one of the four, would all communication be done via e-mail? It's just that travel for me would be impossible, or close to impossible. Thank you
redriter at 2013-06-09 05:41:58:
Me again :) I've looked at Time Zone converters and I can't work out when a UK resident's deadline is. Trying to convert Pacific to London. Any help much appreciated? Cheers I think you are 5 hours behind so does that mean my deadline is till Monday morning 5 A.M?
plinytheelder_t at 2013-06-09 07:28:40:
The UK is 8 hrs ahead of LA or San Francisco, which means that Midnight over here is 8 AM in London.
redriter at 2013-06-09 12:09:10:
Thank you! A fair few hours to go then :)
Scott at 2013-06-09 12:58:18:
redriter, almost all communications are done via email or forum posts in an online site. We do use Skype for teleconferences which are weekly. I set those on weekends, generally at 3PM Eastern / Noon Pacific which works out to 8PM in the U.K. Actually one of our current Questers is Emma Millions, who lives in England. One of my goals with The Quest Initiative is to create an alternate path into Hollywood for outsiders, no matter their gender, age, or where they live, so I'm happy to work with internationally based writers.
