I said the same thing about THE WIRE. I also can't believe MAD MEN is above both BREAKING BAD and THE WIRE. That may just be me though.

Since Timothy Visentin just said pretty much exactly what I was going to say, I'll just say ^^^^^^.

*rant on* They shouldn't have included the sketch/variety shows such as SNL or Letterman. Seems wrong to me. Similarly, Curb Your Enthusiasm... nearly 100% improvised dialogue.. needs its own category. Bilko & Honeymooners should have been in the top 10. Star Trek ahead of Galactica? Puhleeze. Oh, and where the heck is Firefly??? *shallow breathing to prevent hyperventilation..* *rant off*

"Mad Men" is the best show I've seen on TV since "The Wire." That said, "The Wire" should be in the top 5. And if "The Sopranos" is #1, it's only because it really challenged TV to go big or go home with the stories and the writing. We might not have those other two shows, or "Breaking Bad" or "Homeland" or "Game of Thrones."

Before The Sopranos there was Oz, and before Oz there was NYPD Blue, which is the show that really kick-started the modern TV era.

One entry destroys the credibility of this list for me. "Homicide" at 46. That show is top 10, if not top 5. Bizarre.
