my picks for the highest grossing, in no particular order: IM3 Gatsby Star Trek Hangover III After Earth Man of Steel WWZ (only cuz zombies and Pitt) White House Down Now You See Me Lone Ranger Pacific Rim Wolverine Elysium (some of the rest on the list I've not heard of so I'll have to look up) We're The Millers (possible sleeper hit) Monsters, Despicable 2, Percy Jackson, Kick-ass, Grown Ups 2, Fast & Furious If I had to pick which would be the highest grossing... um, my guess would either be one of the kids' movies or ST or Man of Steel. I dunno. I may be way off. I'm only basing these on my preference, not on any numbers or having read any reviews or anything, or looking at dates, or what movies come out directly before or after. If I were to sit down and look at it with my business eyeballs, I wonder what I'd think. I'm personally excited for Lone Ranger, Man of Steel, ST, Elysium, Gatsby, We're the Millers, and Hangover III (just to see if it's a good ending to the franchise).

After Earth and The Lone Ranger will be the Battleship and John Carter of this year. Sorry, but M. Night Shyamalan is like Kryptonite for the majors after his last flops, and westerns are box office poison, (except Django Unchained, maybe?)...

I tend to agree on After Earth. I can def see a few bombs: Pacific Rim will bomb, I think. Gatsby may be on the lower side, but I hope not - I think it'll do well internationally! WWZ... meh, I don't see huge returns at BO, more of a video and backsided gain, perhaps. I don't see it raking in loads. I love Westerns and I love Johnny Depp so maybe I'm biased about Lone Ranger, but it actually looks good and visually exciting. I forgot about Fast & Furious in the bank pile, too. I'm excited for some of the indies, too. MUCH ADO has a friend from HS, Amy Acker, who's done well for herself in TV land :) Go Amy!
