Thanks for this film, which I had not heard of before. I'll watch it. Can't find the script though. Darren Aronovsky is a writer-director who IMHO also does a good with addition/obsession.

I will watch any movie with Philip Seymour Hoffman in it - so he is why I first watched it. I think Hoffman's performance is solid. Darren Aronofsky is DEFINITELY another guy who's name alone will lead me directly to their work. I'm with you on the huge stamp he has made on obsession flicks. Actually, every Aronofsky movie to date is about addiction: Pi = Math Requiem for a Dream = Drug The Fountain = Love The Wrestler = Wrestling Black Swan = Perfection
