I just (re)watched this the other day (DVR'd it from TCM. I'd forgotten how "quiet" of an actor Newman was. No real "Pacino moments" that I can remember in his career. As a younger man I was partial to the "50 Eggs" sequence. Having watched it again recently, I'm more impressed by the scene where Luke visits with his family. Heartbreaking, but without melodrama. Newman plays it with a "Cool Hand."
