I have read similar things. If you dig into it, I have a feeling it's not a gender thing so much as a social power thing, where members of socially dominant groups / or the contextually socially powerful are more likely to act out while the marginalized / disempowered are more likely to internalize violence and oppression. (I don't have a citation at hand and I'm not sure if I made this up or if it's something I read! If I come across a citation I'll add it in the comments.) It's definitely an interesting and underexplored idea in storytelling and I applaud you for grabbing onto it.
Somacell sounds like a fascinating movie and I look forward to seeing it in theatres! Thank you especially for writing a strong female protagonist.
