This question is for everyone, including Scott Myers: F.Scott Frazier mentioned asking three smart friends you want to impress to read your scripts and give you notes. Seems like you guys probably go to the same readers most of the time.
What are your thoughts on when one of your reader/friends who is also an aspiring screenwriter/filmmaker gives you a great idea/modification on a script of yours they are reading? Co-writing credit or steak dinner?
Sub question: What are your thoughts when an acquaintance/friend says, “Hey, I’ve got a really great idea for a movie you should write.” And miraculously, it IS a good idea that you would like to flesh out and test. Finder’s fee or steak dinner?
I've really enjoyed this roundtable series. I can't thank you guys enough and GITS for the infinite and priceless wisdom shared openly. It does not go unnoticed or unused. Thanks!!
