Hmm ... My heart sank a bit when I read about the Odyssey remake as that was one of the projects I was going to work on next. However, my version isn't set in space so I may still persevere with it. This is the second time this has happened to me in recent times - the other was my vampire-helping-humans-in-zombie-apocalypse which I thought was a killer idea until I read about Bethlehem. I guess the moral of the story is, if you have an idea you really like, just write the damn thing!

Yes, Sean. I've had the same thing happen to me at least three times I can remember. A great idea is a great idea, and like moths to candles, writers are drawn to them. So if you come up with one, write it, write it well, and most importantly write it NOW!
