I have been watching clips from Shane (and the entire film) ever since the tragedy in Sandy Hook. The reason being that I hear some people blame guns for violence while others blame culture. The truth is it's both. Shane is a perfect example of how to tell a story that involves gun fights that are rooted in human empathy and an awareness of the great power of a gun. Compare Shane to any current Hollywood production and it becomes clear that story telling craft has been replaced by the easy way out - gun and violence porn to create immediate drama with little or no thought. Thanks for posting this scene. I'd like to see more gun fights like this in movies made today. It does not glorify gun abuse for the sake of creating violence porn. It's somber and has deep meaning when less shots are fired and the bad guy loses decisively.
