Based on the shocking true story of how America almost wound up with a Nazi in the White House. This one really is based on a true story (that the tag cloud doesn't do justice to). More about Pelley here in a PDF article from Syracuse University. Pelley's story is a cautionary tale well worth telling--that ends with him being charged with high treason and sedition (but the tag cloud wasn't working with me on that part). If anyone wants to run with this and write it, it's a helluva story, and you can have it with my blessing.

When an ESCAPED EX-CON who found the LORD on DEATH row goes on a JOURNEY of redemption, he has ONE day to make amends with the FAMILIES of his THREE victims (I assume "lord" wound up in the tag cloud via "drug lord", but I'm having fun trying to use the words in less obvious ways.)

Otherwise, there may be a trend where some people can just take the best points of each of the previous loglines, or the best previously matched words of previous loglines, then just mix and match them together as a logline and cast it off as their own, when instead they may have just taken other people's ideas... Just thought it could be a point worth mentioning

That may be possible, and it's certainly a valid concern. But I think, too, that there are a limited number of available words for us to work with. And even among the 100-ish(?) words, there are only so many adjectives and nouns - even fewer that will make sense together. So I think there are bound to be tons of overlapping ideas. A lot of it is probably unavoidable. :/

“Dug Up” Two young boys decide to fake their own death in order to escape the village bully only to accidentally uncover the shocking truth behind a decade old murder. “Village Idiots” Six ex-cons pull the job of a lifetime when they convince a tiny village to elect them to the local council. All is well until a drug war breaks out and the group suddenly find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they are faced with enforcing the laws they love to break. “The Third” Population control takes a dark turn when a sinister government imposes a law requiring violators of the “two child” rule to kill their unauthorized progeny. Sam, one of the most ruthless enforcers, finds himself on the other side of the law when he discovers his wife is pregnant with triplet. They go on the run, desperate to reach safety before being caught by the very people he helped train.

Not what I meant, which is that the difference in activity between here and the workshop is correctly attributed to the "constructive bribery" of a free Black List read. That's all.

Ah, yes. Agreed! Bribery does wonders. This thread is just a wee bit longer than the original, isn't it. And yet, with a 'real' logline, the incentive factor ought to be the greater probability of selling the script if you do a better job of the logline. It's fascinating (to me) when people workshop their loglines to see how much better the end result gets.

Excellent! I'd like to know a little more about the family, such as why they are missing and why they need his help), but I really like this one!

This was such a great idea! I really enjoyed doing this. Here are my loglines (so far): As part of a team observing one of the last isolated villages in the world, a junior scientist begins to notice strange and unnatural phenomenon, forcing her to figure out if there’s a government conspiracy to experiment on the unassuming villagers – or if the villagers’ gods have finally come out of the dark. As an old husband and wife come close to breaking the record for longest marriage, the media frenzy and family pressure surrounding their anniversary party begins to reveal the cracks and fissures in their relationship, exposing century-old secrets, and ultimately threatening to destroy the last dearly-held American myth – all you need is love. In a secret government training school, three friends discover that their “American” mentors may be hiding a devastating conspiracy – one they may be unwilling accomplices in. When an astronaut dies in a botched shuttle launch, he discovers his ghost can travel through time, leading him to discover the shuttle explosion was no accident and spurring him to try to stop the conspiracy before his death happens all over again.
