David Bowie and David Byrne are also great proponents of aleatory writing, which I am a fan of myself. Here is a link to an article by David Byrne where he has really interesting things to say about what he calls "emergent storytelling". Oh, and do you know this great quote from Patti Smith: “These things were in my mind from the first moment I entered the vocal booth: The gratitude I had for rock and roll as it pulled me through a difficult adolescence. The joy I experienced when I danced. The moral power I gleaned in taking responsibility for one’s action.” I hope some of us approach writing in a similar way. I'm looking forward to the rest of the installments of this series, Scott! I'm a big fan of "innovation through recontextualization", taking lessons from one field and applying them to another. Thank you!

I remember Steve Martin's Ramblin' Guy. I've always modeled my career after him. Someone someday will let me know when I'm successful.
