Seems to me you lobbed this grenade of an axiom about a year after I'd begin reading your blog (meaning quite early on). It blew up in my face that day and shook me to the core because it was the one thing I was missing from my work. It drove me to stare with a fair amount of misery and disdain at my computer's desktop...no less than 7 half completed final draft files. Since then I've made finishing what I begin the top priority and while I haven't been flawless in that endeavor, I can say this...the scripts I've learned the most from were the ones I completed, not the ones I abandoned.

To my surprise, the solution to creative burnout is simply to do it anyway. To sit down and write anyway. To become comfortable with the discomfort until ultimately it fades to distant noise. Though I think it's going to always be there, I can definitely mitigate its effects. The only way out of pain is through.
