Thanks for posting, I had forgotten. Charlize Theron is great in this role, not up to Monster but then it wasn't that kind of film. Is she anti-hero in Monster what do you think?

First off, I think Young Adult is excellent. Cody, Reitman, Theron, any or all of them could have chosen to pull their punches and soften up Mavis' character, but they went at it guns blazing, bestowing on us a Protagonist character with deep and abiding flaws. I'd love to see a sequel because in my view, this movie is like a setup for Mavis to change, deconstructing her fantasies and sense of self [that last shot of her driving away in her beat-up car an apt metaphor for that psychological process]. Re Monster: She's a serial killer. I'd say that safely falls within the purview of villain protagonist, no matter how explicable her behavior.

Hey Scott! I'm MadJones77 (on Twitter) - accidentally posted the suggestion under Twitter instead of my real name. This scene is great! The acting elevates it - Elizabeth Ward Land (didn't know her name before now) makes the most of her minute of screen time. "Shauna!" I too would love to see a sequel.
