A simple idea: for the 10,000th post, describe that one precise moment when you first realized "Go Into The Story" had truly made a difference.

I think you could interview different screenwriters who were amateurs in the beginning of the site and nowadays are professionals in any kind of level. I mean, we could see how the site made some kind of difference in their lives and their careers

Midnight Musings? It's been a while...

Interview with Luke is a fantastic idea. Good job Kevin. Furthermore, I would love to see an infographic (like this or this) with some statistics to show how much work has been done here. It could be easy to share it on facebook/twitter/etc and spread the world. It could show blog statistics related to screenwriting stuff like: 10.000 posts 5.000.000 words = the same as in 250 screenplays 50.000 comments = write each on an index card and you will need a board 30 x 15 meters to put them all 1483 daily dialogue posts = about 50 hours of watching X users = could make Y movie crews X visists per day = could fill Y cinema halls etc. Its just an example. I don't know real numbers.

What a great idea!!! And congratulations to fill a blog with that much without a single dummy post as filler. No, I'm not buttering you up. I think you are pro enough to value if my idea for a post is good enough or not. What I constantly miss in the material I read is how to write so the actor can gain the best out of it. Maybe I'm looking for something that is not needed, I don't know, because I don't know actors. I've asked a few, but still misses if there are any real "actors loooove these things". In short, can I write in a way that helps their performance?
Désirée N at 2012-09-26 04:46:30:
That would be a great contribution to this blogs fine reputation. Splendid idea, I think.

I'm veeerry sorry, Jason Young, but it was Mr Script's idea that I replied to. I misunderstood the arrow beside the "Reply"

As I happened to post on the comment above instead, I think this is a splendid idea. Now I'll be leaving before I hurt myself :-)

I'd just love to see a list of all the most useful and interesting posts from the past 10 years (if one doesn't already exist!).

A worthy winner.

That's a great question, Désirée, and I hope the actor around you love you for it! Do you also ask them what they hate in a script? (That makes for a different but also helpful set of information.) I highly recommend the book Audition by Michael Shurtleff. As the title indicates, it is written for actors, and it talks about how to work with a script to produce a great scene, BUT it very directly addresses the question of what a script (and a writer) can do to make that job easy for actors. Plus it is a really enjoyable read.

Thank you, Shaula. I'll check that one up. Sounds like almost the thing I'm looking for.
