favoring and pushing a strongly visual driven narrative structure, more so than dialogue in my screenplays...I've been creating movies since film school, over 8 years ago. Most of my teachers and classmates derided me for thinking outside of the US box. And now, all of a sudden...it's the thing to do? What gets me pissed more than antyhing else is this idiocy that only low budget and big tent poles are the only movies to make. I guess a lot of the stunning and award winning and popular faved films from foreign filmmakers over the past past 8 years...were nothing but the same low budget and temtpoles the Hwd system is favoring? Wow. So much for other stories from other voices in other lands.
