All my projects start as a box file full of two things - ideas scribbled on bits of paper, and images (mostly cut from magazines & newspapers). Usually the images turn out to be the most use!

Images really help me see the "feel" of the story and genre. I add character pics and 2 or 3 sentence bios of each. I often refer back to the narrative voice of those bios--they often serve as a rudder for the script.

Coming from a slightly younger generation of rising indie filmmakers, I think that tumblr has been an amazing menagerie of information and inspiration in my filmmaking/screenwriting process. There are so many beautiful images that are easy to collect with tumblr's user friendly blogging interface. I sound like a spokesperson but I'm a huge fan. http://myfirstfeaturefilm.tumblr.com/
