I like this poetic approach. It's the way I have been writing ever since I started with short stories nine years ago. Above all, you want to convey emotions to the audience. You take everything in you read, see or hear and transform it into actual characters and situations. Some things actually happened to me, some things I read in the newspaper, some things people tell me, some things are scenes that came to me in dreams. In the end, you can't separate them anymore. They all feel real and alive. At least, that's what I hope. When you have several situations, a plot emerges on its own. You realize a pattern, a natural sequence of the events. It's like moulding a piece of clay. The approach helps me to keep excited about my work and stay in the open mode to get it finished.

I'm always chasing a feeling or vibe. Everything I write has a different internal color or melody. It's hard to describe, but without that feeling, I'm lost. When I lose the groove, I fall back on format, structure, and technical details to keep writing. If I push through, the feeling comes back.
