I actually printed out this series and it seems lost among files and scripts, so thank you for bumping this back up for a re-read.

Scott, This is all very helpful and free, but I have a challenge for you. Why don't YOU go on a Quest of your own in tandem with your Quest Questers! But instead of describing your method in the abstract, why not give it substance in your own script? The difference would be that we get to see the logline, and instead of just a journal of the process, we get to see the actual development of your script. I think this would be even more instructive to us GITS-mo's. Don't worry about your idea being stolen: You got a million of 'em. We would like nothing more than to see a Scott Myers critical and commercial success. This challenge is 100% snark and tongue-in-cheek free. Call to adventure. Not afraid of Max are you, Scott?

I actually have been toying with this idea. I have a great idea for a spec script. The first outright comedy I will have written in several years. If I do it, you can be assured I will NOT make the logline public as it's extremely high concept and I want to protect it at all costs. My only hesitation is I want to make sure I have enough time to manage everything I'm doing, including this inaugural session of The Quest, and still have enough energy, passion, and hours in a day to knock out a spec script. But believe me, I am thinking about it seriously.

Such a great series, thank you! Ron Howard would agree with tracking real life stories for story concepts. He just bought rights to life story of a master art forger: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/07/07/master-forger-comes-clean-about-tricks-that-fooled-art-world-for-four-decades/ Re Quest participation, you're already so generous with what you share, Scott. And we're all wired differently, so right answer for one person is different for another. Yet we all need some degree of private nooks for things to grow, for ideas to germinate and take form. Maybe concurrent (if time) and private, and public forensic later.

Thanks for posting this. I found "Par 6" through a google search and in that post you had links to the previous 5 posts. Struggled to find the rest...until I came across this. Thanks!
