First, thanks so much for doing this again. I compiled all parts of the last series - fabulous insight. Wanted to get a couple of questions in as this will happen around 10:30 EST 1) what is the take on rom coms in the current market? Viewed as DOA or still some life there with right concept. 2) to you, what makes for a great first opening page? what do you need to read, feel, to push you to page 2?

Unfortunately, I'm in the wrong time zone to join in this one, but I'll look forward to the transcript. Here's my question: How far does budget affect your decision? Assuming it's well written, would you be less likely to recommend a big-budget or CGI-driven script? Or does it simply depend who you're reading for and what they want? Thanks...

Fantastic. Thanks for putting this together. Here are my questions: 1. What's the importance of the funniness factor in comedy specs? 2. Spec 1: Somewhat amusing, fantastically structured VS. Spec 2: Hilarious, but a few story deficiencies. Who wins? 3. BONUS: Any opinions (from a reader's perspective) as to why most comedies are so unfunny these days?

Q: I see the technique a lot where movies will start with a 'flash-forward' scene. (As in The Hangover, Seven Pounds...) How do you feel when you see this used? Thank youse!
