This is one of the best endings to a thriller ever, in my opinion. And to think that one of the original ideas for the ending of earlier drafts of the script was to have John Doe chase Tracy through her house in the typical clichéd way. This way is so much better. And a complete smack in the face, not just because of the shock of the head in the box but because they used such an original way to end the film. And I love the scene description. So sparse and precise. As someone who has to constantly edit SD down, it's a good lesson in brevity.

One THE most thrilling/well written Endings to a Film in Memory, AND, lest we forget, that ominous "thump...thhump...thhhump..." Score..lol...It all came together quite brilliantly, immho....
