How’s Producer Scott dealing with deluge? I imagine by now he must be on the verge of grabbing a bottle of J & B and doing a R.J. MacReady.

Producer Scott is currently bunkered down at an old buddy's condo in Palm Springs trolling for action among the widows there, his way of clearing out the cobwebs before plowing through all of the logline recommendations I may bring him for "The Quest." This is actually a good thing because, as he so delicately puts it, "The more fucking I'm getting, the less fucking I'm giving." The key there is, the antecedent refers to sex, the... I'll bet you can figure it out. Anyhow he tends to come back from Palm Springs in a jaunty mood, so perhaps not so negative -- his default mode -- when it comes to assessing loglines.

Powerful words, "What if?" What if John Wilkes Booth was really a Vampire Hunter and Lincoln his prey? What if Robin Hood kept all the money? What if Mrs. President of the USA goes on a maternity leave in the midst of a war? What if Hitler actually succeeded and we all lived in the Third Reich today? What if social media has taken over and people can’t physically speak to each other anymore? What if moonlighting was legal but playing jazz…punishable by death? What if a group of orphans set out on a quest to save their orphanage from closure by … (this one will remain a mystery until my logline submission). I really like this “game”… and I think I’ll play it every day from now on.
