One final question, Scott: Multiple title ideas per logline? I have a logline and am still mulling over 3-4 different titles - would you prefer to have all 3-4 or none in this case? Thanks! Jason
Scott at 2012-05-28 19:03:11:
Please pick the best title and run with it. I'm trying to keep the amount of content I go through from overwhelming the process... and me!
stoneinthesling at 2012-05-28 19:08:38:
Kinda' what I thought - thanks again! Looking forward to submitting tomorrow :-)

Terrific voice on your alter ego - Producer Scott.
Traci Nell Peterson at 2012-05-28 20:02:58:
Can't wait for Producer Scott to moderate his own blog: Go Into the Effing Story! ;)
mommyfollows at 2012-05-28 21:52:35:
That cracked me up!
Scott at 2012-05-28 23:02:25:
Unfortunately -- or perhaps fortunately -- Producer Scott doesn't know a blog from a clog. He's old school that way.
Samantha Tucker-Boyer at 2012-05-28 23:17:16:
What if you have what you think is a great idea for a script - high concept, good title, the works - and after a little research you find out there's another project in development with a similar but different concept? Granted, it looks like nothing's been said about the movie since 2009, so maybe it got dumped? Is it even worth submitting my idea?
mommyfollows at 2012-05-28 23:38:35:
I hope you keep stats of some kind. I'm a sucker for numbers.

Let the Quest begin!
plinytheelder_t at 2012-05-29 01:11:04:
Deep Impact vs Armageddon: two almost identical movies released months apart, and the second one did better box office. Submit your idea, because it's *all* in the execution (which is the point of this quest).
Scott at 2012-05-29 01:24:35:
What plinytheelder said. In one 12 month period, Hollywood put out four incredibly similar movies: 18 Again, Like Father Like Son, Big and I forget the other one. So submit it. Besides you win a free Screenwriting Master Class course no matter what.
Scott at 2012-05-29 01:25:46:
Oh, yeah. I'll keep stats. In the first hour, 41 emails, several with multiple loglines.
plinytheelder_t at 2012-05-29 01:55:14:
Wouldn't Producer Scott hire an intern to manage his blog in between coffee runs, lunch runs, detailing his cars, photocopying and fending off all those b-movie starlets??
Sean Z P Harris at 2012-05-29 02:00:26:
Well, that's my entries sent. Good luck everyone, and may the Force be with you ... Always.
Scott at 2012-05-29 02:11:59:
Producer Scott is one cheap bastard!
adaddinsane at 2012-05-29 03:36:43:
Being timezones away (and ahead) I was a bit concerned about sending too soon. Looks like it was okay. Phew.
Samantha Tucker-Boyer at 2012-05-29 11:07:48:
Thanks guys!
Samantha Tucker-Boyer at 2012-05-29 11:12:16:
C'mon, Producer Scott - who pays interns?
Scott at 2012-05-29 11:13:59:
He won't even bring on interns who work for free... THAT'S how cheap Producer Scott is!
Bob Ryan at 2012-05-29 22:37:12:
Is Producer Scott's last name "Rudin" by any chance?
Scott at 2012-05-29 23:00:34:
Ha, close, but no cigar. Producer Scott is not anywhere as well-read and into book adaptations as Scott Rudin is. One of the reasons Producer Scott likes high concepts is because there aren't a lot of WORDS involved with them. In that respect, he's great for me to have around because he's a constant reminder about how hard it is to get anyone in Hollywood to see the movie YOU or I see. Each of us has to really drill down a story to its essence and that essence has got to blast through wherever these insanely busy, preoccupied, and self-important people are at any given moment.
