David, all courses through Screenwriting Master Class are online which means you can participate almost entirely when it's convenient for you: Download and read lectures, write and upload assignments, post comments and questions on the forums, all what is called 'asynchronous'. The only thing we all do together is the teleconferences and we find a time that works for everyone. Online education really is the way to go. I've been involved with it for over 10 years and have nothing but good things to say about the platform.

Scott: assuming you pick my log line and subsequent script, if you do like the script, what would be the ultimate purpose or prize of you reading/approving the script? agency representation? meetings with producers, agents?

Hi Mr. Myers. I'm a long time reader and love your insight. I am very interested in this contest but I am the most paranoid writer in history. Please don't take this as an insult but how would I know that my idea/story is safe? Regardless if it's chosen or not. I hope there are other writers out there as paranoid as me, if not perhaps I should start reading more psychology/self-help blogs instead.

A Cep, let me see if I can assuage your concerns. First of all, I am the only person who will read all the loglines. So assuming you can trust me, which I hope you would, your logline is safe. Second if you are selected as one of the four participants in "Go Into The Story: The Quest," those story ideas / loglines will be kept secret throughout the entire "Quest" process and if we move forward on any of them through rewrites as well. They will only be open to the public once the scripts go out to market and by that point, the writer will have a copyright on it. Does that help?
