They pursue the kidnapper? But, wouldn't the MAN in the REARVIEW MIRROR be behind them? I guess all they can see beside a dark silhouette is the kidnapper's eyes in the rearview mirror. Hmm.. Still a little confusing, it makes me think he's following them the whole time (like Duel). I think there is a movie with the same story. Except there's an Amber Alert, and some college kids see the car and follow it.. And of course, can't get cell reception. And of course, it's a found footage flick. Maybe it was on Amazon Studios. So, it was just a test movie.
