Nothing brings a smile to my face like these news articles. Some inside producers are smart and have coined the phrase "transmedia" where you develop a script, novel and video game concept all at the same time. They own everything of course. I think that is a transparent play to "control the content" What would compel anyone to go to an agent or studio first instead of self-publishing their novel? It's a story telling revolution!

Michael, I agree. It's also precisely what J.J. Abrams says in today's upcoming TED Talk excerpt. Go write! Go make a movie! The power is in the hands of the content creators! And THAT is the essence of the 'spirit of the spec.'
