Whatever I can do to help you, Scott. I am most attracted to script to screen and great characters. I think a monthly article on what you can expect when you move to Los Angeles from the industry would be great. I'd be willing to share my own experience and interview others on theirs. There are a lot of things I wish I knew about living in LA and making movies that would have made things easier there.

What if you had industry guests write (or be interviewed) about their take on screenwriting now? Like, a contemporary and successful producer's take on spec scripts, or what catches his interest. A director, and actor, etc...

I would love to create a series titled "Advice from..." with each post being a different writer or filmmaker. A short list of advice from writers and filmmakers, in their own words. Bite-sized advice from full-length resources. I know this site is about feature films but even the greats started out making short films. Nolan's Doodlebug. Burton's Vincent. Scorsese's What's A Nice Girl Like You... Blomkamp's Alive In Joburg which became the film District 9. With short films rising in popularity, to promote creativity and inspire us to be better storytellers, I would also love to do a "Short Film Of The Week" feature.

Hi Scott, I would love to oversee a script reading/analysis series. I can send you a resume and writing samples if needed. also, on an unrelated point, I think Saint's short film idea is a great one. i would like to propose an orthodox idea that perhaps we study documentaries. i think the form has a lot to offer in terms of studying how to form a narrative and how to manifest character. FOG OF WAR is one of the greatest character studies I've ever seen, for example. It really cuts to the core of a complex man who wrestled with deeply ambiguous morality. I would propose that studying these types of films would greatly enhance our ability to work with our own stories. I'd be curious, too, to see how or if the concepts of the Hero's Journey apply to docs. I think the answer would be decidedly YES, but it would be an interesting analysis to make.
