That's good advice that I have to constantly keep reminding myself of. The other good chestnut I've read, which kind of goes along with rewriting, is something to the effect: "A work of art is never finished, only abandoned." There's always something else you could tweak with a story--change a word here, punch up an action scene there--but you can't dwell on it forever. Eventually you have to let it go at some point.

Really what it boils down to is that when you're young you're fearless by default - everything is a new adventure and nothing is off the table. Only with experience do we learn to be afraid of our own fate, know what we prefer on the table and succumb to the temptation of hand wringing instead of working. Great post.
