I too, got bogged down - hit a block in beginning of my act 2 - which is why I wasn't there for Quest. Sorry. -- Out of your suggestions I throw in for Coen's as well - though I think what would really help me is more of a "traditional":script - the basic bones of what the "rule" is (or so they say). What I loved about Gilroy is his writing seems to be a natural evolution of the "normal/accepted" script, though. as some comments did attest, is still viewed by the first timer/outsider of what you can not do for the insiders to to say yes. Now, I don't agree with that, but I still think there are many walls to go through. I think you have to know the "rules" cold, to be able to break them, and understand the choices of a writer (specifically in film). So I would love in the future to go old school and see.

It's such a good series, Scott. I hope you continue it. My schedule's been crazy this year so I haven't been able to participate as much as I'd like. I was excited to see Galaxy Qwest in the series. I'm sorry I didn't have more time last week. Juno and Sideways sound like great ideas to me. I'd be especially interested in analyzing Juno after reading Script Shadow's review of Diablo Cody's latest script (http://scriptshadow.blogspot.com/2012/05/screenplay-review-lamb-of-god.html). Great series.

Tried to make it in for Galaxy Quest, but I was too busy getting ready for the Nicholl. (Which is too bad, because I originally thought of GQ as a touchstone script for my Nicholl submission. I'll read it before I hit the next draft.) Little Miss Sunshine has had a pretty huge influence. It would be interesting to add a day just to compare it to everything that's tried to rebottle its lightning. Ocean's 11 was the script I read before I sat down to write my first script, a union organizing movie set to the beats of a caper. Danger: it's a 145-page script.
