A wonderful film. Lots of good stuff about an author's responsibilities to their readers and their story. And the line "I brought you some flours" always cracks me up...

The contextual danger with (V.O) is that anything can become lame or expository. I've heard and read plenty of contradictory opinions over the years; transfer into action, enhance the narrative, let characters speak, stop pretending, give meanings to a story, etc. Also (somehow) figured what makes them soooooo sleazy in cases... audiences fail to think and must imagine a biased perspective through ONE sense only - listening. It's a design choice and a path to inner feelings of the moment. But even more obvious, a bi-lateral mindset manipulation. Mental & special FX, combined. Might as well flood attentions with music? Expression is simply beyong thrills or whatever conditions happen to be there in a state of pause.
