Yeah I think the term is obsolete these days. When the director yells "action" on day one... that's when your movie is getting made. We have a movie shooting right now and it got "greenlit" about 8 months ago. So I, of course, thought our movie was a go. Then there was a few months of silence... then all of a sudden the script that everyone "loved" that got the green light, needed work and all of a sudden there was this weird panic happening all around us. OK so we can work on the script some more, but why the panic? Our movie's greenlit. The response I got, "yeah, but now we have to get it made..." And there it is. Green light has a new meaning: we're seriously thinking about making your movie...
