So, when he says it only took him three days (#1) to write Cabin in the Woods, and then he says he likes to figure everything out (#12) before putting it on the page. Does that mean the process of getting Cabin in the Woods onto paper took three days? Or would that include coming up with the story and figuring everything out as well?

Didn't know that about Joss' writing process. It's surprising because his productions are such havens for screenwriting geeks you'd think he'd personally be so in sync with his other writer. Also, he's well known for having a reputation for being highly meticulous about what's on the written page, when shooting his movies and tv shows.

I love this quote from Avengers talk. He's discussing how and why it was cut from 3 hours to 2 and a quarter hours. “‘You know what, The Avengers are more important than I am so these things that I’m obsessed with aren’t necessarily moving the story forward, and therefore they are baggage.” A humble director who has the clarity to know where the story must come first.
