Thanks for highlighting this movie. I think it demonstrates every lesson you teach about using images instead of words to tell the story. If you've seen the entire movie, Rodrigo refuses the call all the way to the end. He literally dies refusing the call. Although it seems that he's accepted it along the way, he never makes the transformation into a "man of peace" in it's entirety. This has to be one of the best screenplays ever written.
