Good sir: Love this blog, easily one of the best of the many on screenwriting. Like you, am fascinated by / mystified by / and adore Pixar. A question or two about the online course, though: Must one be at the computer the same time each week? And what time is that? Thank you.

Wally, one of the virtues of online courses is you can do almost everything on your own time: download lectures, read other people's comments, post your own comments, upload writing exercises, all on your schedule. We will have one live teleconference next week scheduled for Friday, March 16 at 7PM Pacific [U.S.]. Anyone who can't make that call, I record them, then upload so they can listen to the conversation. I've been teaching screenwriting online since 2002 and I can honestly say I like it better in many ways than on-site classroom education.k Hope to see you in class next week. It's terrific and a great learning opportunity.

One of the reasons for their success is, in my oppinion, their stubborn attitude to make good movies and not just something cheap riding on previous movies. I also think that the fact that they have year-around staff and not employ people by the project, forces a need to be creative that you don't get if you don't need to pay salary no matter income.
