Not sure if this will be discussed in another part, but I wonder what Chris does for income? He hasn't had a script produced yet, but is he getting other paid gigs? Or is he still working full-time and writing on the side?

Marc, you'd be amazed at how well you can do as a screenwriter and rarely if ever get a movie produced. I have a friend who has never had a movie made who has worked in the business as a screenwriter for over 20 years. The reality is most script project don't get produced, if I had to guess perhaps as high as 75%. And yet writers, oftentimes multiple sets of writers, get paid to write, rewrite, and rewrite projects over and over. I've had four movies produced for which I received credit [one of them with a pseudonym], worked on another four that got made for which I did not receive credit. That's 8 out of 25 feature film scripted projects. Plus several TV projects. Unless you're an A list writers, it's probably the case that more of your project don't get made than do.

That is quite an interesting stat...actually terrifying may be a better word. I guess that's why there is such an increase in the indie-writer-director world. F. Scott Frazier must be the luckiest guy in the world then, it seems like everything he does gets greenlit!
