Brutal. Makes me want to watch this again as it's been a long time.

Man this is so wierd. This scene has stuck with me since childhood. I no idea what movie it was from and I was thinking about it the other day. How powerful, brutal and heartwrenching it was and how this is the type of scene I want to write. And here it is this morning. Creepy. -Jim

If you haven't seen the movie, or don't remember it, it's well worth watching. I need to watch it again but that Harmonica is a nice device.

Great suggestion. I seem to remember Leone's FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE also had strong flashback sequences which illustrated Lee Van Cleef's vengeance plot. Also tied to a musical theme/motif. ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST rules though!

That's what I'd call a great use of a 'talisman,' where a physical object takes on great emotional meaning to a character. And perfect as a tip-off of retribution to come. Reminds me of Omar's whistling in "The Wire," the song "The Farmer in the Dell."
