Right off the bat, you notice the blocking of the filmed version -- what a great riff on the Last Supper. The script called for two tables, which wouldn't have looked this way at all. Having the coffin always present in front of the table, like a guest at the dinner, instead of being carried in mid-way also adds to the surreal vibe of the filmed version, and it's that surreality that brings the magic to the final version, a magic that wasn't in the script, which had a really "straight ahead" kind of feel despite the ridiculousness of the situation. The screen version pushes the envelope a good deal more.
