I'm being rewritten right now. It blows. The bottom line is that the studio (one exec in my case) is going to get what they want. Period. You can either do it and get paid to do it, or not. In our case, the notes in question sucked bad. Like, "if this is what you want to do, why did you buy our movie?" I know what you're thinking...we all think our scripts are great, but usually we agree with studio notes. At least the ones that are well thought out and can be solidly backed up with reason. But this turned into a pissing contest, which we are equally responsible for. Bottom line, we did a pass trying to accomplish the note in the least sucky way. Got the nicest feedback we'd ever gotten from this exec (who I'm certain has a voodoo pin cushion of us in her office), "great job guys, we're right there, so close..." We were fired less than a week later. The movie got greenlit though, so there's that. I still want to vomit several times a day when I think about it. Seriously, I get actually nauseous when I think about it. Like right now.... uuoph..UUOPHD
