Hey, thanks so much. I really enjoy this blog, and I took the Pixar class and felt like I learned a lot, and so I'm very glad that this made it onto the site. I'd wanted to make this video ever since I first heard the song a year and a half ago (the lead singer of Yellow Ostrich is my roommate). The first step was teaching myself animation, something I'd hoped was vaguely possible. It was, thanks to a kind friend initially and, later, hours of internet instructional videos. It was animated using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop.

Yellow Ostrich and the Pixar class, I'm always surprised how small the world is among creatives. Though I barely participated in the class (busy time), the materials and forum discussions were awesome (and I'm so excited about Scott's story summaries class next week). You can let your roommate know Hahahaohhoho got played very loud, repeatedly, for several weeks. Singing and dancing might have been involved :-) Very cool you've been building your skills so effectively. The boat bobbing through the ocean towards us, beautiful, and the captain, so charming. That's the hard part, giving it life, and you're making it look easy.
