Thankfully, I haven't seen any of these films. However, the December-January period is great for films fans down here in Australia. It's when we get a rush of big films with Boxing Day and New Year's Day prime release dates. Only downside is that a glut of films get released at once!

This always amuses me, because December, January, even February is when we in the UK finally get the big Oscar contenders. I've just come back from seeing Hugo, and can look forward to The Iron Lady, My Week With Marilyn, The Ides Of March, and The Artist in the next few weeks. We love this time of year! In fairness, there's then a dead spot from mid-February until Easter or later, until the first of the major studio movies for that year hit screens...

I'm glad you mentioned Devil Inside. I went to see War Horse Saturday night, 10 pm showing and the last showing of Devil Inside had a big 'Sold Out' sign a good 30 minutes prior to showtime. I'm in central Ohio, a suburb of a larger city. I can't imagine what the teenagers do on a weekend there but go to the movies. That's the social hangout and this was the first weekend back to school. The only thoughts that went through my head as to why it was sold out was there was nothing else that really opened. I believe all the big draw movies, they probably already seen over the holiday break with nothing to do -- Sherlock Holmes, MI4, War Horse, even Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. In addition, Devil Inside is a found footage movie, so with this generation of "Youtube-ites" with their constant scour of reality tv stuff and the appeal that is the voyeur in all of us, I think it may have been the perfect storm. I liked War Horse btw, except for the oversaturated colors at the end.

I was working at a movie theater when One Missed Call came out and usually watched all the films because I got to see them for free. It was truly awful.

Oh Leslie Nielsen, why did you have to die? One Missed Call was made for you, sir.
