I know your days are pretty jam packed but have you ever considered a podcast from readers questions? Not necessarily weekly but possibly monthly? And I thought the live blog was great!

I would definitely like to see more GITS Meet Ups out in the wild, as well as Dispatches From the Front Line. I'm also a fan of the Script Reading and Analysis, but I admit I've only actively participated once. Brainstorming here, but what if each of the five posts were not posted daily, but at some other cadence, every three days, M/Th, or weekly? So that each script is spread over two weeks or more? That way, it's not as easy to "fall behind," so to speak. That may help people avoid the trap of "oh, maybe I'll read and chime in next week." Random thought :) Anyway, it is as always great to be part of the GITS community and thank you for keeping this up! Happy New Year!

L... I agree. I miss Dispatches From the Front Line and of course I would like to see more GITS Meet-ups... As fast as this group has grown there's gotta be more folks now from the south willing to hook up.

My favorite bits always involve the actual craft of screenwriting. Whether it be interviews or real filmmaking stories, I dig it. Daily dialogue is a treat, and I always read everything from Saturday Hotlinks. While I'm here, I'd like to encourage everyone to sign up for a Screenwriting Masterclass too! I loved the one I got to take this year.

I hope you do keep the GITS Script Reading and Analysis series going. I know I haven't posted since Gladiator, but I have almost caught up on reading most of the scripts, and I really want to get my thoughts posted up on GITS. However, I understand your reasons for questioning it's continued existence in its current form (one script a week). Personally, I'd prefer it stayed that way, but I appreciate it takes up a fair chunk of your time, and that as you say, some weeks are more active than others. As for other ideas ... I'll have think. I may have mentioned this before - and it's probably impossible - but it would be cool if there were some widget on the side of the page in which people could note how many words they've written that week. A leader board of top scribes, if you will. Wouldn't prove much, but I recall a writing course I took once, and the one thing I found most useful was when we had to declare to the group how many words we'd written since the last lesson. I don't think people lied, and it motivated you to come to class saying you'd written quite a bit by actually having written quite a bit. Just a thought.

Really like the Script reading strand, but weekly is just too much for me to keep up with. It's good to do it across a week - before you forget the script you just read! - but a script once a fortnight or once a month would work better for me...

I read the GITS Script Reading and Analysis series faithfully but have yet to actively participate. It's part of the reasons I follow your AMAZING site.

The Script Reading and Analysis was a lot of fun. I could only participate in about half of them as my schedule got a bit crazy, but I learned a ton. It became somewhat intense to do it every week, though. Once a month would probably be better. I'd like to see the Scene Description Spotlight return. There are plenty of good ones already in the GITS archive -- you could perhaps feature some of those again. That would also serve as a reminder to dig into the GITS vault for some great posts. I'm curious to know if people search the older entries or if the focus is mainly on the new stuff.

Hi Scott, Only happened upon your site relatively recently, but I hope you keep up the Script Reading and Analysis series, much as I appreciate how time consuming that must be. I think it's a great way for aspiring screenwriters to learn from some of the best examples and understand how they achieve their success. Thanks for the site - really enjoying what I've seen so far and hope I can contribute in 2012. Happy New Year

I'd like to see a continuation of the Setting Goals posts, perhaps a monthly or quarterly check-in on maintaining goals and focus, see where we are in terms of meeting our year-long and short-term writing goals. I really enjoyed and got a lot out of the 10-post series. Thanks Scott!
