Was this a lost reel from the Animatrix? The craftsmanship of production is incredible, but I found myself thinking "so what" the entire time. I love a good action scene, but I can't imagine putting so much time in effort into a project with so little substance. But, it's clearly succeeded in its intentions (Fox!) so godspeed to Orellana.

PS: butterflies and roses don't count as substance.

Zaike: That line is classic. You have to figure out a way to work that into one of your scripts. Sounds like a really bitter young woman spitting out some words at an ex-boyfriend [or soon to be ex-BF]. "Besides butterflies and roses don't count as substance." Turns on heels. Struts out.

I agree with Zaike. I almost stopped watching. Within the first 30 seconds I knew there would be no substance.

p.s. If the creator is a comic artist, why didn't he consult with any of his writer pals? Rhetorical, I know artists and they all think they're writers without putting in the training. If any of the artists I've worked with read this, I LOVE YOU GUYS. Heh.

Wow, yeah... Absolutely stunning graphics! But boring. I forced myself to stick with it for 6 minutes, then couldn't stand it any longer. But if it's just the characters as a vague concept, and the visuals as the strong concept... well, it does actually sound like a really fun opportunity for a writer! It's not like you have to fix someone's crappy story. You are taking these characters and this very engaging visual world, and making a whole new story from scratch, right?
