Nate, I thought the same thing. At first, I thought it was literally something that took place in an elevated spot. But then I figured it must have something to do with compressed time frame. Honestly I don't know. Anybody help out with this?

"elevated" is biz speak for classy. The Ring is an "elevated horror thriller" -- VS. something like Dawn of the Dead or 40 Days of Night. There supposedly needs to be some intellectual component that elevates it from straight up horror. The ultimate elevated horror film would be The Shining. IMHO
