Hiya SK, The idea was Cariad's, and we actually started shooting without the final punchline - she and Fraser often work together, do lots of improv work and spar really well so we were confident we'd find one in the end. Wouldn't always recommend that though - because it was such an easy set-up (only took a couple of hours to shoot in all) and it was just the four of us, it was relaxed and like a writing session. We quite liked stripping it back to the bare bones, makes the shooting easier to experiment when you don't have a huge crew to co-ordinate. Guess the big thing to learn from this one if anything is work with good people and let them bring something to the party - it doesn't have to be all you (for instance, Cariad was nominated for best newcomer at this year's Edinburgh Comedy Awards). Oh and that short films for us tend to work better when they're an idea that just comes out naturally and freely, rather than something we've tried really hard to work out. If you're having brain freeze best to let it lie and let it come to you at an unexpected moment - you'll be walking home at three in the morning with an idea you just have to write out then and there soon enough!
